My name is Billy. I was rescued from the Geelong Animal Welfare Society (http://www.petswayhome.com/www.gaws.org.au) in September 2006. I was 18 months old and it was not my first time to the pound. I was previously adopted 3 months prior to a family who had kids, and named Elvis. Apparently I was too boisterous and kept escaping. On my last escapade they decided that they didn't want me and left me in the pound.
On my 2nd day at the pound my Mum and Dad came to ‘just look' at the dogs on a drive-by visit. At the time there were three boxers at the pound. One had a home and did a runner like me (luckily his owners were coming to pick him up) and the 2nd had already been re-homed.
Mum and Dad knew straight away that I was the dog for them. Unfortunately I had to do my seven days in jail in case my previous owners still wanted me. Mum and Dad came to visit me most days and even brought a friend's child to see how I reacted to him. Needless to say, I love kids!!!!!!
Every night Mum and Dad would sit up talking about what they were going to name me, where I was going to sleep, etc.
Eventually, seven days were up and I was theirs! They took me home to Torquay Vic where they had a couch just for me, and toys. Even though the yard was small Mum took me for a walk down the beach every day! I loved it! Nothing better than a run along the beach! I was underweight when I came home but Mum and Dad have since put 10kg on me and I look fantastic!
Once I settled in, Mum decided it was time to go to Obedience training. I quite liked it, as I got to socialise with other dogs and also learnt some manners so I wouldn't get into trouble.
I now live in Sydney with Mum and Dad. I have a baby brother now too, Tyson.
